Motherload Affiliate Program
FTC Disclosure Policy
Part of the Affiliate Terms · version 2026-06-16
As a Motherload affiliate you earn a commission when someone you refer becomes a paying customer. U.S. Federal Trade Commission rules require you to tell your audience about that relationship. Disclosing it is a condition of staying in the program.
The rule, in plain terms
Whenever you recommend or link to Motherload, clearly and conspicuously disclose that you earn a commission. The disclosure must be:
- Clear — in plain language a normal reader understands.
- Conspicuous — easy to notice, near the recommendation, not buried in a bio, a footer, or behind a "more" link.
- Before the link — place it ahead of or right next to your referral link, not only at the end.
- On every platform — posts, videos, emails, DMs, livestreams. "#ad" alone in a sea of tags is not enough.
Examples of an adequate disclosure
- "I'm a Motherload affiliate and earn a commission if you join through my link."
- "Heads up — this is a paid affiliate link; I get paid if you sign up."
- For short video/audio: say it out loud, e.g. "I earn a commission if you use my link below."
What is not enough
- Vague tags like "#sp", "#collab", or "#ambassador" on their own.
- A disclosure only on a separate page, in a profile bio, or below a "read more" fold.
- Saying it once and omitting it on later posts.
No income or results promises
Do not promise specific earnings, income, or outcomes — yours or your audience's — and do not imply Motherload guarantees results. Share only what is true and what you can stand behind.
This page explains your disclosure obligation; it is not legal advice. If you are unsure how the rules apply to your situation, consult the FTC's endorsement guidance or your own advisor.
